Industrial wastewater must, in most cases, be treated in order to adjust the water quality to regulation requirements for sewage disposal. In most countries, the regulations are enforced and heavy fines are levied. The industrial client looks for a simple treatment process which will not require a significant infrastructure and whose operational activity will be simple. BioCastle holds this type of solution by eliminating the need for sludge (biomass) growing and circulating in cases that require only organic matter reduction. 

How it works:

  1. Treatment process: Our SBP capsules provide a stand-alone biomass treatment and therefore eliminate the need for natural sludge (biomass) growing and circulating. The infrastructure for small tank bioreactors has therefore been minimized. There is no need for sludge monitoring and waste sludge treatment. The operational activity is simple and does not require the allocation of manpower.
  2. SBP capsule type and amount: The type and amount of SBP capsules is defined according to the contamination type and concentration in the water (daily capacity inflow is included).
  3. Required infrastructure: The SBP capsules are introduced using a perforated cage attached to a crane.
  4. Operational activity: The perforated cage should be pulled out once a month, washed (without removing the old SBP capsules) and a new amount of fresh SBP capsules is introduced. The perforated cage is then immediately returned into the bioreactor. This action should be completed in approximately 10 to 15 min.
